GME XRS-390C

For quite some time I had wanted the GME XRS range of radio in my car. With so many features including Bluetooth to set channels, share and view locations and much more these units are class leading. When doing the make over for the Pajero in 2023 I finally managed to get my hands on the XRS-390C with is the best of the best.

Full military grade construction to protect from vibrations, water and dust these units can not be beat when you want a high quality UHF Radio in your rig. While the 390C does not come standard with the magnetic microphone mount that I did want they do come standard with the GPS system built into the hand piece unlike the 330C & 370C which rely on Mobile signal for this to work (You can buy the 390C microphone separate for the other models to have the GPS in there).

When linked to your phone via Bluetooth you can see the location of others sharing their location on these units which is great for finding mates in the bush. With the XRS buttons being programable you can set them to carry out a range of functions including my most used one and that is Instant Playback. This will play back the last message received so there will be no more missed communications. You can also set Listen Only Channels giving you access to channels you would not normally be able to hear. Sadly most Emergency channels operate on a Digital frequency and therefore can not be received on an Analog unit like this.
